Hiromi Oshima

Curious about what Miss June 2004 Hiromi Oshima has been up to since her Centerfold made her famous? We have answers!

Gettin’ Groovy
“You’re more likely to see me at a concert than a club. I love going to concerts. I recently saw Tame Impala, an Australian psychedelic rock band, and they were amazing. I’m also into Jonathan Wilson, this folk-music classic rock guy who can really jam. When I saw Wilson live, my body moved like crazy.”

Dance Dance Revolution
“I’ve been dancing for a long time. I started lessons in the fourth grade, beginning with ballet and then switching to jazz, which became my real love. I’m from Japan so I also learned traditional dance growing up, but it’s very boring. It’s just arms and not so much steps. That’s why I love jazz—there’s so much movement and emotion.”

The Bunny Hop
“I’ve been a Playmate Dancer for about four years. When I’m on stage, I feel like a different person. I’m more open about being sexual because people see me as a sex symbol. I never dance sexy when I go out, but on stage, it’s liberating; in fact, I feel much sexier when I’m performing with the Playmate Dancer than I do in real life.”

Will Dance For a Good Cause
“After the tsunami in Japan, I wanted to do something to raise money. So I decided to throw a party where the Playmate Dancers performed. We also got 20 Playmates to do a fashion show. We raised almost $10,000. It felt great to give back. As Playmates, we’re so fortunate that people will pay to come see us. We have to use that to our advantage and give back to society.”
